Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)First Educators Offers Traditional and Roth IRAs.
- All IRA options offered may be put into either an IRA share account or IRA share certificate.
- IRA share accounts pay dividends quarterly.
- IRA share certificates pay dividends for a specified term and rate.
- First Educators accepts rollovers, transfers, and lump sum distributions from qualifying retirement plans.
- Penalties apply for early or unqualified withdrawals.
- The NCUA insures IRAs up to $250,000. ESI insures IRAs up to an additional $250,000.
Any member under age 70 ½ with earned income may deposit up to the allowable contribution per year or 100% of annual compensation, whichever is less, into a traditional IRA account. Contributions may be tax-deductible depending on the participant's income. A traditional IRA defers federal income taxes on the earnings. Contribution limits and tax-deferred amounts are dependent upon your adjusted gross income and participation in other qualified plans.
Roth IRAs
Most members with earned income may contribute up to the allowable contribution per year to a Roth IRA. Higher income levels may qualify for reduced contributions. Unlike the traditional IRA, the Roth IRA has no mandatory withdrawal age. Participants can also make contributions past age 70 ½ if earning income. Contributions to Roth IRAs are not tax-deductible; however, the earnings may be tax-free if the withdrawals meet certain criteria as established by the Internal Revenue Service.

Call the credit union's 24-hour automated telephone teller service, TTT, to inquire about account balances, make withdrawals, transfer funds and much more. Checking-
When it comes to checking, we offer the best in town. Our checking accounts are service-fee FREE and feature direct deposit, payroll deduction, overdraft protection and free travelers checks. In addition you have access to an ATM card or VISA Debit Card upon approval. (Statements are mailed monthly)

VISA Check Card-
Use your FECU VISA Check Card at any ATM that displays the VISA logo. And, use the same card (instead of writing a check) at any merchant that accepts VISA. The card automatically subtracts the purchase amount from your credit union share draft account. It is that easy. No more fumbling for your checkbook or for your identification, now one card does it all!

Direct Deposit-
Why stand in line to deposit your paycheck? Save your time, and send your paycheck directly to your credit union checking account on payday. It's safe, easy and guaranteed. Other recurring checks are eligible for direct deposit, too … Social Security, state retirement checks and more. To start payroll deduction, check with your employer.
Automatic Transfers-
Making payments has never been easier! Transfer from any of your accounts to your loan on the same day each month. Just let us know which day you'd
like your payment transferred and we'll take care of the rest. Deposits
can also be made automatically to your savings, checking, Christmas Club, etc.
Student Accounts-
College students can benefit from our services that are just for them. For students with a valid student I.D., we offer a savings account with a $5.00 minimum balance. we also have checking available with 50 free
checks with first order. Students will be eligible for a free debit card, 1/2% rate discount on first auto loan and a Visa card with a low rate of 14.75% and no annual fee. Please contact member services for complete

Credit Union Service Centers-
Service Centers are a network of shared credit union offices, which allow you to make withdrawals, deposit funds and transfers between accounts. Service Centers are open for extended hours and on Saturdays. First 5
transactions per month are free. All additional are $2.30 per transaction.
